Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to work carried out by Select Car Repair SW Limited (company number 14634602). They set out what is agreed when you ask us to look at a vehicle, and what happens if you need to change or cancel something.

1. Services covered

We carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs, including routine servicing, engine diagnostics, brake and suspension repairs, battery replacement, oil and filter changes, electrical fault checks and general mechanical maintenance, for private customers and business customers.

2. Enquiries, quotations and when an agreement is formed

An enquiry, including one sent through this website, does not create a contract. Work is quoted per vehicle: parts and labour are listed separately, and the figure we give is the figure for the work described. An agreement is formed when you approve a quotation and we confirm a date for the vehicle to be looked at. Where a vehicle is inspected and the work differs from what was described, we stop and come back to you with the finding and a revised figure before continuing.

3. Parts, prices and variation

Parts are quoted with the price shown. Where original-equipment parts are available as an alternative, that option is priced at the same stage so you can compare. If a quoted part is no longer available, we will tell you and offer an alternative at a stated price rather than substituting it without agreement. Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and include VAT where VAT applies.

4. Booking, collection and risk

Vehicles are taken in by appointment. Please remove personal belongings before handover; we cannot take responsibility for items left in a vehicle. A vehicle should be collected within the period agreed when you are told the work is complete. Storage may be charged where a vehicle is left substantially longer than agreed, and we will tell you before any such charge is applied.

5. Cancellation, work stopped at your request, and parts

You may cancel an appointment before the vehicle is taken in, and you may ask us to stop work at any point. Where work stops at your request, you remain liable for work already carried out, for diagnostic time already spent, and for parts ordered specifically for your vehicle that cannot be returned to the supplier. Parts supplied and fitted carry the warranty terms that apply to them, which are confirmed in writing with the quotation.

6. Liability

We carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, our liability for any single job is limited to the amount charged for that job, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or other indirect loss. Where a vehicle is supplied to us with an existing fault or modification not disclosed to us, we are not responsible for consequences arising from it.

7. Complaints and governing law

If something is not right, contact us first at support@selectcar.repair so we can put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
